Today My Heart Smiled, and My Bucket was Filled!

Today was definitely one of those days when being a teacher is the best job in the world!

I got to school much earlier than usual, and I was walking down the hall thinking about all of the things I needed to do before the bell rang. When I got to the classroom door, I was greeted with a sign that said, "Happy Teacher Appreciation Day Mrs. Wright!"

Then I opened the door and I was overwhelmed by an incredible sight! There was purple happiness everywhere! A little army of decorators and smile-makers had transformed our classroom into a place of celebration! There were purple balloons hanging on the wall, desks, bookshelves, from the ceiling and door. Purple streamers were hung from place to place, and ribbon was floating all about! On every desk, shelf and bit of whiteboard, there were cards, notes and messages from your thoughtful children. Everywhere I looked, I found another message of appreciation!

One of the cards told the whole the story...

"To The Great Teacher!
Dear Mrs. Wright,
Happy Teacher appreciation day!
Thanks you for being my teacher this year!
We love you!
from; Olivia, Terry, Derek, Landon, Kevin, Rylee, Jenson, Chanden, DJ, Mimi, George, Vincent, Daniel, Alex, Rajin, Simran, Stanley, Abby, Grayden

(P.S. Teachers appreciation day is a national event held on January 29th, it is not made up by some random 9 year old girl named Olivia, who lover her teacher so much, she wanted to make a event for her!) (check your calendar!)

Card designed by another, strangely again, named Olivia

For about a week, I had been asked questions such as, "What is your favourite colour? What is your favourite snack?"
So, for snack we had veggies and dip (thanks Alex), popcorn (thanks A.), and numerous chocolately goodies (thanks Olivia and Alex)! Everyone enjoyed Teacher Appreciation Day!

Finally, I was presented with a beautifully choreographed dance by some of our students, which many others joined in for an encore performance! I was then told that I needed to make a speech to say why I appreciated the class (what a bunch of goofballs!).

Today, my heart smiled!!!

Thank you beautiful children!!!!
